This portable city guide, now available in English for several European cities (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Florence, London, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Venice, Vienna and Zurich), combines an interactive city map and a route planner and is available as a download or CD ROM.

Instead of volumes of maps and travel literature, travellers now only need a PocketPC as they set out to explore new cities. Information is clearly divided according to the usual Lonely Planet categories Sleep, Eat, See, Shop and Night. Each tip is displayed on a separate page in the established format. And if you find something interesting, you can have it shown directly on the interactive map.

The easy-to-use digital map material helps you to get your bearings quickly in the city. Important buildings, rivers, parks, train stations and underground stations are also shown to help you orient yourself. You can indicate your actual position (for example, your hotel) on the map with a marker and then add the desired point of interest by clicking the map. Not only that, but you can have your position shown directly on the map using a GPS receiver. Using the intelligent city guide search function, you can view all information according to distance from your current location or have the best tips from a specific category shown along a certain route. Points of interest can also be used as the point of departure or destination for route calculation. The number of city destinations is to be extended in the future.
