Jetpack II : is a gravity style game in which the object is to fly the Madbeetle as far as you can to score the highest number of points.
Gravity keeps pulling the Madbeetle down, so you need to push him back up by applying the thrusters.
Not too much and not to little either, else he is going to crash into the cave walls. Just to keep you on your toes, there are obstacles in the way too, so you''ll need to fly him either above or below those.
Those thrusters use up a lot of fuel, so you?ll need to pick up the fuel packs along the way too.
If you do hit something, so long as you have a life left the auto recovery kicks in and gets you flying straight again, so you can continue onwards, meaning this game is a little forgiving for those of us who do make mistakes.
The game is split in stages, with each stage getting little more difficult than the last. Completing a stage adds extra bonus points.
Collect the diamonds for extra points, and when your down a life, pickup a red diamond to replenish it.
The game options allow you to choose a fixed or free cave. Fixed means the cave will stay within the vertical bounds of the screen, and the Madbeetle move up and down through the cave. Free, means the cave can rise and fall out the bounds of the screen, making it a lot more diffcult. In this mode the cave scrolls and the camera stay centrally focused on the Madbeetle.
The game allows the player to choose easy, medium or hard level settings, which affects the game difficulty and the amount of points you get.
The game also features a save game, so you can exit and resume you game at any time.
