A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, tells the story of a greedy miser named Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge delights in making profits, and despises showing goodwill towards people around him, especially his employee Bob Cratchit. Finally Scrooge gets his just desserts when he is visited by ghosts on Christmas Eve, who show him the error of his ways.
